Creating a Plane Tangent to a Sphere

How do I create a plane that is tangent to a spherical surface at a given point?

SolidWorks lets you create any reference geometry you could possibly need to achieve your design goals, but sometimes there’s a trick to getting exactly what you want. In this SolidWorks video tutorial, we’ll look at creating a plane tangent to a sphere at a specific point. Achieving this is a two step process. We’ll first need to create a reference line that will define the point of tangency, and then we can create the plane.
