I have two parts that look identical, but their mass properties are different. How can I tell where the difference is?

If you ever run into a situation where you have two SolidWorks parts that look identical, but after checking the mass properties, it’s obvious that something is different. Now, the first thing you might check is the material, and the density that the mass properties is using to calculate the part’s mass, as well as the location of the part origin, however, in this example, we can see right away that they are in fact, the same. So we know there’s a difference in the geometry somewhere. But instead of manually examining each feature to find out what’s been changed, SolidWorks has a couple tools that lets you quickly identify the differences between documents. This SolidWorks video tutorial will show you how to do just that.
