"My name is Mark Conner, and I'm the Director of The Engineering Academy at Hoover High School and The Online Engineering Academy. The four-year, college-prep engineering curriculum at Hoover starts with a course that focuses on solid modeling and the Engineering Design Process. We'd been considering moving from another solid modeling package to SolidWorks for a couple of years. We had not made the change because none of the engineers on our faculty had experience with SolidWorks, and we were concerned about finding adequate training that matched our budget and time constraints. After contacting the staff at SolidProfessor and having the opportunity to spend about an hour working through basic tutorial videos, I was convinced that we had found the ideal solution for training our faculty. I also realized that we had found a great tool for the engineering students at Hoover and in our online academy. Having developed the initial course material for The Online Engineering Academy, I know what is involved in creating video content. I was blown away by the quality of the videos and the amount of information that was being communicated in 1-3 minutes. I was also excited that someone else with far greater expertise had already created the videos...and was committed to making sure that they stay up-to-date.

We've always encouraged our students to be independent learners. We want them to take in as much of what we put before them as possible and to venture into new territory whenever they can. SolidProfessor enables us to do both! Students are more able to develop a strong foundation in SolidWorks, because they can watch short videos multiple times to fully grasp a new concept. Those students who are interested in learning more about a particular subject than we cover as part of the course are not hindered by their teacher's availability or knowledge of SolidWorks.
