ASEE

SolidProfessor was in attendance at the 121st ASEE (the American Society for Engineering Education) Annual Conference & Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana. Armed with a Makerbot 3D printer and a crack team of Education Curriculum Specialists, SolidProfessor was determined to make their presence felt at the ASEE Conference; part of an ongoing focused effort to continue promoting and supporting CAD Education across the country and around the world.

The journey from San Diego, CA (SolidProfessor HQ) to Indianapolis was not without its challenges; the largest being damage to one of the SolidProfessor in-house Makerbot 3D Printers at the hands of airport baggage handlers.

Jithan ASEE

Thankfully, there was no shortage of sharp intellects at the ASEE Conference, one of them being Jithan Tennakoon, a student of Cañada College of Redwood City, California. With a little help from Jithan, the Education team was able to get the Makerbot up and running and presented live demonstrations throughout the conference. In fact, Jithan created a part with the SolidProfessor Makerbot to use in a robotics competition that he was participating in. SolidProfessor’s impromptu collaboration with Jithan presents a perfect snapshot of the relationships being built and nurtured within the ASEE community!

ASEE

The American Society for Engineering Education, the ASEE, is dedicated to furthering education in engineering and promoting engineering technology. Hosting over 400 technical sessions, the ASEE Annual Conference and Exposition is the only conference dedicated to all disciplines of engineering education. It is the perfect venue for SolidProfessor! As the idea of the flipped/blended classroom is adopted by more and more learning institutions, SolidProfessor has risen to the forefront in providing high quality curriculum for an ever-growing list of engineering software titles. By utilizing SolidProfessor in the classroom – universities, colleges, high schools and even middle schools are preparing their students for the real-world working environment by developing their skills in software used every day within the engineering industry. SolidProfessor would like to thank the ASEE, Jithan, and all of the friends we made along the way during our first (but not last!) trip to the ASEE Annual Conference & Expo!
