Introduction to Rhino training course
Rhino is a powerful and versatile 3D modeling program used in architecture, construction, and jewelry design. Our beginner-friendly course teaches you:
- the fundamental concepts needed to create geometry in Rhino
- the interface and all of Rhino’s essential functions
- how to create 3D models of real-world objects with Rhino commands
Start learning the fundamentals of Rhino by customizing your interface and setting up Viewports. Build 3D models with purpose as you become versed in creating points, lines, curves, surfaces, and polysurfaces, and integrate these skills with our guided exercises.
Creating and translating geometry
Examine how to develop your designs, manipulate them, and add thickness to specific parts of geometry. Draw features with precision using orthogonal views and custom construction planes. To practice your new skills, you’ll complete hands-on exercises that include building an ergonomic chair and creating a screwdriver.
Communicating design intent
Keeping communication clear and open is essential to every team’s success. Create 2D drawings you can share with your teammates and others via PDF download. Use dimensions, angles, and notes on your model to clarify design intent.
Rendering in Rhino
You’ll design a bottle using curves, surface tools, and cutting tools. These tools give you the ability to create ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing consumer proucts. Practice converting models into realistic images using Rhino’s visualization capabilities. Apply materials to certain objects, select specific camera views, and add lighting to create detailed design renderings.
Upon completing this course, you’ll have mastered the skills to create 3D objects from scratch Demonstrate your knowledge and earn a SolidProfessor Technical Certificate by completing all of the lessons in this course and scoring an 80% or higher on the course review test. Introduction to Rhino is included in the standard membership plan.
