DraftSight Tutorial

DraftSight is a design and drafting software used to create, edit, view, and markup 2D drawings. Our Introduction to DraftSight course is designed to familiarize new users with primary functions in order to successfully create a drawing from scratch all the way through to a printed file.

Plus, all the commands taught in this course can be used with the free version of DraftSight.

In just 2 hours, you will understand the concepts necessary for drawing creation, drawing modification, annotation, and printing.

Each course section  includes an exercise to reinforce the topics covered in that section.  These exercises provide guided practice of all commands and will build on each other to help you complete a drawing project of your own.

By the end of the course, you’ll have learned how to:

  • Customize the DraftSight interface to your preferences
  • Draw polylines, hatches, and polygons
  • Use Trim, Pattern, Blocks, and Offset commands to modify shapes
  • Annotate drawings with the Smart Dimension and SimpleNote commands
  • Set up and manage print configurations

Introduction to DraftSight is included in the SolidProfessor Standard Membership.
