Improving Your Team’s Performance

Fostering an environment of continual learning and growth, for many teams, is a cultural shift that requires conscious planning and thoughtful implementation. Though effortful, the investment is worth it to help your team improve:

“Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.” – Benjamin Franklin

How can you start building a culture of learning and growth? Five simple steps go a long way in setting up a supportive learning environment with a shared goal of team success and improvement:
  1. Identify a Team Vision or Goal. Beginning with the end in mind isn’t new advice; time and again, research reinforces that those who write down their goal and establish a deadline are more likely to achieve their goal or reach their vision for success. Set a goal and build commitment within your team – how does your vision help them develop as professionals?
  2. Set Expectations. Once you have an idea of what you want your end result to be, you can backwards plan and establish milestones for your team to meet en route to achieving your goal. Not sure where to start? Check in with Joe for some of our Training Plans.
  3. Empower Learners. Getting buy-in from your team and setting expectations is important; allowing them to take ownership of their part in the shared pursuit of the goal validates and empowers your team members. Use SolidProfessor Baseline and Review Tests to help your team identify their current understanding, gaps in their knowledge, and areas for development.
  4. Monitor Progress. Know exactly where your team members are and with which skills they’re still struggling. SolidProfessor assignments allow you to identify content that’s important to your team and hone in on areas where progress can be made.
  5. Celebrate Success. Reward achievements and recognize milestones! We can help you celebrate with customizable certificates (no charge) or SolidProfessor gear like T-shirts, water bottles, sweatshirts, koozies and other swag you can order:
