Congratulations on finishing up the 2015-2016 school year! To those of you teaching summer classes, we hope you still find some time to enjoy the warmer weather!

In this month’s newsletter, you’ll find a recap of changes we made this year, an opportunity to earn some free SolidProfessor gear for your students, and some suggestions for things you can do this summer to prepare you for next year.

The Year in Review

In case you missed them, here’s a quick summary of some changes we made this year!

New Website Features

– Control which class sections students can enroll in via our Student Store – Integrate SolidProfessor assignments in your LMS – Show Student growth by using Baseline Tests – Limit the number of times students can take Review Tests – View student test scores in Excel reports in a “Last Name, First Name” format

New Courses In addition to updating the majoring of our existing courses in our Library, we also added 14 new courses and workshops:

– Introduction to 3D Printing – 3D Printing with Makerbot – AutoCAD Essentials – Introduction to Revit – Introduction to Onshape – Introduction to Fusion 360 – Fusion 360 Sketching – Fusion 360 Features and Part Design – Fusion 360 Assemblies – Fusion 360 Introduction to CAM – SOLIDWORKS 2016 Update Training – SOLIDWORKS Electrical Schematic – SOLIDWORKS Model-Based Definition (MBD) Workshop – SOLIDWORKS Solving Surfacing Errors Workshop

We’ll be rapidly expanding our Library new year – let us know what you’d like to see available by taking this survey.

New Hands-on Practice

The hands-on exercises in our 2016 courses are now coupled with coaching videos (walk-throughs) to provide students guided practice, allowing them to practice skills they learned in lessons in a highly structured and supportive environment.

To provide students with better independent practice, we released Supplemental Materials for SOLIDWORKS. These part and assembly files are best suited for additional practice, homework, or assessments. We’ll be releasing Supplemental Materials for Inventor soon!

Share your story with the SolidProfessor community!

Hearing about your students’ success using SolidProfessor is a powerful and inspiring experience for other instructors in the SolidProfessor community. Did 87% of your students earn their Inventor Certified User certification? Did your eighth graders earn their CSWA? Set up some time to share your story, and we’ll send you SolidProfessor gear, like this Einstein T-shirt, that you can enjoy with your students next year!

Prepare for Next Year

Take a few steps over the summer to prepare for 2016-2017

– Need a quote to get a purchase order started? Reach out to Joe! Make sure to ask about discounts available for two- and three-year subscriptions.

– Update your assignments to newer versions (years) of our courses with guidance from our Help Center.

– Revise assignments and make them shorter – short assignments help students retain information better. Because SolidProfessor Review Tests come at the very end of an assignment, keeping assignments short allows students to get frequent feedback on their understanding.

– SolidProfessor assignments to integrate in your LMS – creating assignments gives students access to additional review questions and in-app recommendations of what lessons to watch to improve their skills:
