SolidProfessor March Newsletter: Technical Certificates and FREE CSWA Vouchers for Spring!
This month, we have new team members and a ton of new courses, including Introduction to DraftSight, Principles of Finite Element Analysis, Introduction to CATIA V5, Swift Calcs Essentials, and Introduction to Solid Edge ST9. We’re also very excited to announce the arrival of Technical Certificates to help you and your team publicly share a testament to their expertise. Finally, we have FREE Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate exam vouchers available for spring – let us know if you’re interested!

Our Team Is Growing!
We’re excited to introduce two new members of our Customer Success Team: welcome Alli and Blake! Don’t worry, you’ll still find Joe, Sarah, and me at SolidProfessor – Sarah has moved to our Marketing Team, and Joe and I are here to help you and your team achieve your goals.
Alli Bartelloni joins SolidProfessor after helping managers build quality engineering teams in the IT staffing field. She is excited to help you have the best experience with SolidProfessor.
As account manager at a software company, Blake Bender helped customers use technology. He’s excited to build a relationship with you.
Joe McAferty has been an integral part of the Customer Success Team for the past year and enjoyed meeting many of you at SOLIDWORKS World. You can still reach out to him any time.

Introducing Technical Certificates!
SolidProfessor Technical Certificates are an exciting new addition that allow you to easily showcase your knowledge and experience. Awarded to members who score at least 80% on the Course Review Test, Technical Certificates help to verify your expertise. You and your students can check the Achievements section of your SolidProfessor account to see which Technical Certificates you’ve already earned and print or share them on your LinkedIn!
Because SolidProfessor Technical Certificates are awarded for discrete topics, they’re a great way for your students to show potential employers in exactly which skills they are proficient. For information about using Technical Certificates with your students, check out this article:

Free Siemens Solid Edge Software
Excited about our new Solid Edge course but don’t have the software? You can get it for FREE!
- For Students: Solid Edge Student Edition is for use outside the classroom in support of your studies. To obtain your free perpetual (will not expire) license of Siemens Solid Edge Student Edition, simply register at here. You’ll receive an email with download instructions.
- For Secondary Institutions: Secondary instructors can get a free, perpetual academic site license of Solid Edge to install and use Solid Edge on as many computers as required. To obtain Siemens Solid Edge High School Edition simply register at here and follow the emailed download instructions.
- For Post-secondary Institutions: Siemens Solid Edge University Edition provides a free, perpetual academic site license for post-secondary institutions with a small annual maintenance and support fee. To obtain or to learn more about Solid Edge University Edition, please contact your local Siemens PLM channel partner or the Solid Edge Academic Team in your region: Americas, EMEA, or Asia Pacific. Fall 2016 CSWA Results and Free Vouchers for Spring 2017!
This fall, we were thrilled to partner with SOLIDWORKS to provide free Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate exam vouchers to more than 800 students. Students whose instructors used our Suggested Outline: Beginner to Certification course had an average pass rate of 73% – nearly 10% higher than the national average pass rate! We also noticed that…
- Instructors who created assignments from the course had markedly better pass rates than those who did not.
- Students generally had to watch at least 80% of lessons to achieve this pass rate – instructors encouraged participation by giving grades for work completed in SolidProfessor.
